This monastery is located on the southern slopes of Fruška Gora near Irig and 3km away from the picnic area Iriški venac. The monastery can be reached following the new road that isn't on the map, from the monastery Grgeteg to the village Neradina and then to Irig. Before entering Irig follow the turn right sign post to the monasteries Old Hopovo and New Hopovo. New Hopovo monastery together with Krušedol, by it's architecture, role in education and rich history is one of the most significant monasteries in Voyvodina. The founder of this ancient sacred place is the Serbian ruler, later bishop and deacon Maksim (Đurađ) Branković. In the 16th century Hopovo is the most significant educational center. In this monastery in 1750 Dositej Obradović became a monk and spent three years in it. The high monastery's guesthouses completely surround the monastery. Close by is the monastery Old Hopovo that is damaged, conservated, is not active and is waiting for its reconstruction. Inbetween is the monastery's fish pond. The monastery New Hopovo is active and in the care of nuns.
