"At first light I stood on the east hill above Vrdnik, a prettier romance I have not seen in Fruška Gora. Far behind the Jazak hill, the sky was red...", the famous admirer of Fruška Gora, the travel writer Miloje Bumbić used to say.
Ocassionally, Vuk Stefanović Karadžić used to stop by Vrdnik to visit Milica Stojadinović - Srpkinja, "his daughter from Fruška Gora" as he called her.
